Location
Find Iris in the Student Government Association Suite (Room 223) on the second floor of the Main Campus Student Center, 501 E. 10th Street.
Photo Booth Hours
Iris is open for drop-in sessions during the following times:
- Monday – Thursday: 9AM – 4 PM
- Friday: 9 AM – 4 PM
Note: The booth is unavailable during finals week or when the university/SGA office is closed.
Who Can Use It?
The Iris photo booth is available free of charge to all ECU students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The booth is wheelchair accessible, and staff are available for assistance if needed. There is currently no limit to the number of times it can be used.
How to get your professional photos
- Come by the Student Government Assocation suite (located in the Main Campus Student center, Suite 223) Monday – Friday between 9AM and 4PM
- Students: Monday-Thursday, 9 AM – 4 PM
- Faculty/Staff: Fridays, 9 AM- 4PM
- Check in with SGA professional staff (office #s 223A, 223B, 223C)
- Use Iris to get photos taken
- Click Start then entering your email address
- View the quick tutorial
- View yourself on the screen; adjust the stool and center yourself in the frame
- Take 3 photos (using a 3-second or 6-second times), and retake a photo (optional)
- Choose your favorite photo and edit it using Iris (optional) – adjust brightness, whiten teeth, remove blemishes
- Check for an email from Noreply@irisbooth.com with a link to your photos
- Click the link and choose a password for your Iris account
- Edit and/or download your photos



What to Wear
Dress professionally in business casual or business formal attire. Dark-colored outer layers (jackets, blouses, shirts) work best with the light gray background. While there’s no dress code, we recommend wearing clothing appropriate for your career field—something that makes you feel confident.

No, Iris is completely free to use. This service is proudly provided by the Student Government Association at no cost.
Is Iris accessible?

Does Iris take passport photos?
No, Iris is not intended for passport photos and does not meet official government specifications.
How long does it take?
Most sessions take just 2 to 5 minutes from start to finish.
Can I retake my pictures?
Yes! You can:
- Retake photos during your session until you’re happy with the results.
- Return for another session at any time—there is no limit to how many times you can use Iris.
If others are waiting, we may ask you to allow them to go first before doing another round.
How many photos will I receive?
Each session provides three (3) professional headshots. You can take more in a future session if needed.
Can faculty and staff use Iris for my departmental website?
Absolutely. Faculty and staff are welcome to use Iris to take professional headshots for use on departmental websites and other university-related materials.
What should I wear?
Dress in business casual or business professional attire. Key elements include a shirt, blouse, or jacket—darker colors are recommended for better contrast against the light gray background.
While there’s no dress code, we encourage you to wear what feels professional, appropriate for your field, and makes you feel confident.
